Sergio Arau is one of the most iconic personalities in Mexican Rock en Español. He was one of the founding members of the eighties seminal band “Botellita de Jerez” and has released 3 albums as a solo artist. Simultaneously, his talents go beyond music and has directed music videos, animations, and movies. He is best known for directing the film “A Day Without a Mexican”.
Sergio Arau saw Rusty Eye play live and thought it would be a good match to incorporate their sound with his blend of Hard Rock, Metal and Punk with traditional Mexican Folk Music. The whole trio has joined as his backing band.
Jorge Herrera, from the famous “Hermanos Herrera” joined as a multi-instrumentalist. He plays a wide array of traditional Mexican folk instruments such as: Huapango violin, Jarana Jarocha, Accordion, and the Requinto Jarocho (to name a few).
The band has recorded a single called “No Me Late la Tira (Ni me Latirá)” which roughly translates to “I Don’t Like the Cops (and Never will). They plan on recording a new Sergio Arau solo album and will be playing shows soon.
Rusty Eye welcomes this new project as it brings back drummer Miss Randall, together with bassist Mr. Rust and guitarist Baron Murtland. A brand new Rusty Eye studio album in English is in talks as well.

Segio Arau es una de las personalidades mas icónicas del Rock en Español Mexicano ya que es uno de los miembros fundadores de Botellita de Jerez y ha lanzado 3 discos solistas. Simultáneamente ha dirigido videos musicales, animaciones y películas. Es mejor conocido por la dirección de la película “Un dia sin Mexicanos“
Sergio vió a Rusty Eye tocar en vivo y se le ocurrió que sería una buena idea incorporar el sonido de la banda con su mezcla de Hard Rock, Metal y Punk con música tradicional Mexicana. El trio entero se integró como la banda de Sergio Arau.
Jorge Herrera, de “Los Hermanos Herrera” también ha entrado a la alineación como multi instrumentista. El se encarga de los instrumentos tradicionales Mexicanos como: Violin de Huapango, Jarana Jarocha, Acordeon y Requinto Jarocho (entre otros).
La banda ha grabado un sencillo que saldrá este mes llamado “No Me Late La Tira (Ni Me Latirá)”. Planean grabar un disco solista nuevo y hacer presentaciones.
Rusty Eye esta haciendo ésto como un proyecto sólido alterno y marca el regreso de la baterista Miss Randall a la banda junto con Mr. Rust y Baron Murtland. Un nuevo disco original en inglés de Rusty Eye está por planearse.
